Ok, so Thursday was like a really horrible day. First the Assistant Principal walks into my classroom right after lunch while the kids are copying their homework to give me an informal assesment during writing. I was just starting a new unit on Small Moments (a very tricky concept especially since my class is special ed. and at risk) and the lesson pretty much bombed, which happens, not every lesson is perfect. But this woman thinks that every lesson should be so she went to the writing coach and told her to spend more time in my classroom with me. But honestly, writing is my strongest area and she just picked a crappy lesson to come and watch. Honestly I'm gettin sick to my stomach just thinking about it. Then during a fire drill mine and Nicole's class were talking and fooling around on the way out and the principal punished them by taking away thier halloween party and taking their preps away for a week. This means that the music/art/gym/technology/and library teachers come to my room during the prep and give it to them in the room. Which is really just punishing me because now I can't get anything done in my room. Just a crappy day.
Yesterday was much better. After work me, my cousins Jennifer, Christina, Christie, and Sabrina went to my cousin Lisa's house to go and see her new baby and we ordered pizza and just had lots of raunchy conversation. It's a strange bond we all have. We're all about the same age (20-27) and we all grew up like sisters so we share the same family history, but we're all really good friends too. At around 11 me, Christie, and Christina decided to go out for a few drinks at this bar called Plush Lounge. They had really good music and some really cute guys (hey I can look!). Then we see this guy Anthony we knew who lives on Christina's block, he's pretty cute but a real pill head. So he sits down and we're all chatting when his girlfriend Angela, whom I've known since high school, comes over, all psychotic, and is like "Hi I'm Angela Anthony's girlfriend. Anthony why are you sitting with three girls?" I thought maybe she didnt' see my face so I say "Hi Angel" "Oh, hi Missy" and she walks outside. He follows her and I'm like whatever! So after about 30 minutes of cold beer and gossiping about Pill Head and Psycho she comes back in hysterical crying, hugging me, apologizing, and spilling out her whole life story. Pretty sad. I needed more beer.
We left the bar at around 3 am and I went home and ate a half a box of Oreo's. Not Cool. Today I have tons of work to do, so ta for now.

Ok, so my 18 year old sister just told me that when she graduates school in April (she goes to a beauty school in the city) that she wants to work for a year and then move to London. She's really serious about it. How cool is that! See that's my issue. I met A when I was so young that I didn't have a chance to do anything crazy. I feel like my whole life I've kind of went along with everything. I mean it's not like I've had some boring old hum drum life. I mean I travel a lot, go out to bars, and living in NY I've seen tons of museums and things like that, but my life just hasn't been very exciting the past few years and I'm resentful because I don't know what to do to change it.
God I'm so depressing! On a high note I didn't lose any kids today, Whoo Hoo!!! But I didn't hear from Christine. Again.

Ok so tomorrow is my first class trip with the other 3 second grade teachers and 4 kindergarten classes. I am so flippin' scared that I'm gonna lose one of the kids. So scary!

Ok, I looked in my UFT book and I'm free tomorrow night and saturday this week and almost anyday you want next week. Let me know what works for you.

That was 30 minutes ago and still no response. I know I sound a little psychotic and neurotic, but when she was going through a tough time in her marriage I was her only friend who didn't put her down for cheating on her husband. I mean I told her that it was wrong, but my main goal wasn't to make her feel bad (she felt bad enough on her own, without my input) but to make her get counseling, forgive herself, and make her marriage work. I spent hours on the phone with her, drove to her house whenever she was upset, made sure she got out of the house, and, most of all, got her to see a therapist. Now that I'm dealing with some issues she's MIA. I don't know I just feel lost, like I'm drifting. I don't think shoes will perk me up this time, but then again ya never know.

Ok so this weekend didn't go exactly as planned, but nothing ever really does, does it? So Friday me and A (or is it A and I?) went to my aunts for dinner and it was really yummy. Then we came back to my house and played some Texas Hold'em with my cousin Nikki, her fiance Rick, and my sister. It was fun. I won two dollars. Whoo Hoo! Big Time!
Saturday in the day time, A and I just kinda bummed around watched TV and movies and stuff. He didn't really annoy me too much this weekend which was good. But I did notice that his nose is very big. I mean I always knew it was big, not hooked and crooked big, but a little big. But I always thought it was cute in a quirky kind of way, but for some reason it struck me as annoying. I know that you think a nose can't be annoying, but a little bit it can. So anyway, Saturday night we went to this haunted hay ride that was really cheesy, but we had a lot of fun anyway. We drank hot cider and had donuts. I ate like a pig this weekend. We were supposed to go to the city with Christine and Allen, but she never called me back. Now that I think of it, I haven't heard from her in a couple of day. I wonder what her problem is? I think sometimes I come on too strong and seem too needy which scares people away. Hmmmm.
Then Sunday we watched the giants game. I got ready for work and went over my plan book and my guided reading books, we had dinner with his parents whom I dislike immensley (sp?) then we went to bed. A nice relaxing day. Oh, and we took our German Shepard, Holden, to get groomed and he got this adorable little bandana with a pumpkin on it. Sometimes I think I love that dog more than any other person I know. I'm not sure if that's sweet or sad.

Or sitting in the box because A went to bed at 8:30. Ah, no biggie, but they're really cute. Slouchy brown cowboy boots. So. Friggen. Cute. I can't wait to wear them. I wasn't sure if I was going to jump on the cowboy boots bandwagon, but I fell in love with these shoes. I couldn't afford them, but that's what credit cards are for right?
So, I'm in the middle of a lesson this morning when Ms. Ramapo, the assistant principal, walks in. I was doing what was in my plan book and I was on schedule, but this kid David (who is never doing the right thing) is calling out and generally out in left field. I just hope she realizes that there are things that you can't control. She was only a classroom teacher for a year before she went into reading recovery. And she has this whole "Holier-than-thou" attitude.
So plans for this weekend are up in the air. Tonight me and A are going to my aunt Vicky's house for dinner and then maybe play a little cards. Tomorrow I'll see if my friend Christine (who I miss terribly)and her husband Allan will meet us in the city for a few drinks and sunday prob just bum around and watch the giants.
