I was reading Cinderella with a small group of students yesterday when one little girl asked me, "Why did Cinderella just marry the prince? She doesn't even know him. She shouldn't get married anyway because it's only good for a few years and then you hate each other." A very profound insight for a seven year old, but also a little sad.

If you were to ask anyone that knows me (not that you could, even if you wanted to), they would tell you that I'm a cynnical person. Although, I prefer to call myself a realist. I'm not sure if it's because I grew up in a big city, the media or that I'm just desensitized, but I feel very disenchanted with life and love, as apparently is my 2nd grade student.
